Yesterday we were very privileged to have Peter Taylor, who won a Bronze medal at the recent London Olympics, come and visit our class. He spoke to the students about his outstanding achievements and described how it had taken 15 years of share determination, hard work, perseverance and dedication to achieve this amazing goal. He was an inspiration to listen to and was very happy to share his medal with the students.

During the last few weeks the students in room 4 have been completing homework projects about “I Wonder Why....?” Each student had to choose a question that they needed to research the answer to. I was blown away with the outstanding quality of work that the students produced. Everyone had done a very thorough job and presented their detailed answers to the class.
Tairua’s Astounding Wearable Arts show was a spectacular array of costumes that had taken the student’s weeks of hard work, determination and perseverance to make. The show was full on excitement and was based to the theme ‘Transformation’. Each glass took to the stage to present their costumes to music and lighting in front of a large audience.
Tairua Wearable Arts
This term at Tairua School the student are going to embrace their creative spirits in presenting a Wearable Arts Show. Each student from room 4 will be part of a team of designers, creators, sculptures, and models. Together they will use their creative and innovative thinking, artistic ability and technology innovation, to present an amazing costume relating to the transformation of seasons. They will choose the music to go with their creations as well as deciding on the way they will move about on stage. We thoroughly look forward to presenting this Wearable Arts Show to the Tairua community in week 6 of this term. |
