The students have chosen the countries they are going to study and they are: Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, France, Greece and Italy.
Our main focus for this term will be co-operative group work. In groups students will have to select a country and study certain aspects of that country and the importance and purpose of them e.g. history, flag, food, customs, clothing, traditions, culture, landmarks, location, artwork, celebrations, famous people, and capital city etc. They will then share and present their knowledge with the class in an effective way. Later in the term we will invite parents/caregivers to come and join us for a “countries day” where each group will share some of their countries food, costumes, dance and artwork.

Wow....check out our new Bag Bay that is situated outside our classroom. This has freed up a lot of space inside our classroom which allows the students more room for learning and a new computer area...Ye Ha!!
A big thank you to the Board of Trustees for allowing this to happen. Here are the finished Garden Sculptures that the students from Room 4 have created. I am so very proud of the huge amount of hard work and effort they put into designing and making their Garden Sculptures. Well done!! |
