What a fantastic afternoon we had for our annual school swimming sports, the weather was great and the cheering house teams were very vocal. This year we all competed in length races they were: 1 length kick (flutter board), 1 length kick 6 times on front and kick 6 times on our back (survival skills), 1 length freestyle, 1 length backstroke and 1 length breast stroke. All of our swimming skills have improved immensely, it was really cool to see the awesome swimming skills.

Huff n’ Puff with Briar Briar from sports Waikato came in and taught us a range of fitness activities. We had a lot of fun learning the new games and circuits that she taught us. We certainly got puffed, but we had a good time. Thanks Briar. Miss Browning bought her camera in for us to use in the pool these are some of the photos we took. We really like animals in Room 3. Neveah bought along some new born kittens for us to see and pat, they were so cute!! After gathering lots of information about pets, Room 3 were now in a position to start sorting and sifting through the information, we started to make informed choices about the animal we would like as a pet. We went on Trade Me and Pet store websites to find out the costs for; cages, food, and the animal we wanted to get. There was a lot of discussion about the suitability of an animal around children (meaning it couldn't be an animal that might attack us). The students then got together with other students in class who wanted the same pet, they then as a group had to come up with an argument for the pet that they wanted - cost was a big consideration and the amount of space an animal would need. Finally we made the decision and it came down to a vote - a bunny rabbit won by far!!! We then rang Whiti Farm Park to see if they had a rabbit and they did a baby miniature lop rabbit. Yahoo! Miss Browning picked her up at the weekend, she is so cute. We named her Toffee. There are 3 people who care for her each day at school, making sure she has enough food and water. She is very loved by all the students in Room 3. We had a Pet Day at school, some of Room 3 students bought along their pets to show. As some of the students in Room 3 didn't have a pet we decided to make pet rocks. We had a lot of fun inventing our own pet rock, we had to name it, and tell everyone its special powers.
