We have been very busy studying space. As part of our inquiry we made dioramas about space. Here are the cool dioramas we made
As part of our Space study we went to the Auckland Observatory. This has to be one of the best places to visit. There is so much to see and do there. We took part in three different activities;
1. Movie theatre to watch, ‘Secret of the Cardboard Rocket’ – the children got to look at the planets in our Solar System. 2. Interactive activities – we were able to do the hands on activities such as – the black hole, astronaut suit, planet weighing machine, etc 3. Classroom – an observatory teacher taught us about the planets, the moon and its phases, and eclipses. We were also lucky to be able and go see the big telescope. The children wrote recounts about the day and letters to thank the parent helpers. What a cool day. |
